getting ready for TRUNK OR TREAT...

The butterfly Grace, and little witch Abby with daddy Chris
Spooky creatures in the front yard...

Mary Jane the Dragon...

Papa, Kenny, Adam and Jon sitting on the tailgate watching the treaters go by...

Kenny the pump ken...

Jon the big brother

sorry couldn't find the edit to set him straight but you get the idea....

Adam Jim spiderman of course

Patrick Joe something from star wars he had a light saber, don't remember what hs was called

Mary Jane not dressed yet, she was a dragon

Kelly was a cowgirl, but Papa was sure she was a city slicker because she had on white cowboy boots...

Megan went as a photographer, you know it herself.....................

Kenny was a pump ken he wasn't dressed and my camera ran out of batteries. Jon carried him around and he had a tee shirt that said VOTE FOR PEDRO Now I know that I am getting old because I didn't get it. After they collected all their candy, Adam and Mary came to our house for a sleep over. They ate their breakfast and have proceeded to eat all their candy. The sewing room looks like the city dump with wrappers and left over uneaten candy. Only once a year....

Halloween is a real treat with grandchildren. Beth's church has a tradition called TRUNK OR TREAT. Usually before halloween night the ward gets together, parks their cars with the trunk facing the parking lot. Trick out your car with lights, candy and pumpkins. the children walk the parking lot in costume and trick or treat from the trunks. Tonight is the night...we are meeting Beth and her tribe for pizza in the parking lot before the candy runs begin. I love it, there are so many children and it is fun to have them go round and round...I will post pics after the event...Mary

THE ELVES ARE AT IT AGAIN...

It must be getting close to Christmas decorating time again...I am going to have a booth at Smoky Hill High School this year and I am selling wreaths. Deja vous, reminds me of my mother who made and sold wreaths for vacation money for many years...

THEN THERE WERE SEVEN TO SPEND THE NIGHT AT NANA AND PAPA'S HOUSE

Jim and I are learning about single parents. One forgets that parents need time away from those little ones who need everything. Chris asked at BINGO if we could have the girls over for Saturday night, well of course we love having them. Then about 1:30 the telephone rang and it was Adam Jim. Papa answered the phone but he was insistent about talking to me. I could hear his little voice, "Nana can I come over to your house and have a sleep over?" Who can say no. I asked the important question, does your mother know you want to come over. Well it seems there is no formal church this weekend so saturday night was terrffic. Beth bribed her Daddy to pick them up, so until they arrived at our house we did not know who was coming. The little girls, (Abby and Grace) were so excited that their cousins would be here too. They are all best friends. So we went from our empty nest to flowing over. I wish I had taken a picture at dinner time. They were so cute each taking turns to talk and tell their tales of school. Even Mary wanted to talk. She kept trying to get my attention to call on her. By the way, she is ALMOST toilet trained. Only one little accident. When Jim delivered the children home, Jon thanked him for letting him have some peace and quiet. Now if that isn't 13 I don't know what is. I kept saying there would come a day when going to Nana's wasn't going to be a priority. One down, eight to go. At least I have a few years of children who want to spend the night....We are truly blessed....

Abby and Adam Jim

BINGO NIGHT AT HOLLY HILLS

Grandparents always know when school starts...there are lots of activities to attend lots of stuff to buy and lots of school events that the children invite you to go with them and participate. Last night Papa and I went to Grace and Abby's school. It was fundraising night for the music department so we had lots of BINGO cards, pickles (which we did not win) pizza and of course the dollar suckers which Abby really got into.........all and all it was fun and we met thier friends and realized that since Chris joined PTA he is there hero. (too bad he is the only male volunteer)
We are looking forward to more activities...
